Iridescent Spring - Square Silk Scarf
A Dragonfly Poem
artfully tapping the water— Sumida River
This haiku from 1813 seems to suggest the dragonfly may be playing in the waters of the Sumida River that runs through Tokyo, or perhaps scribbling a few lines of verse on the river’s moving surface.

The series is inspired by Dragonflies, an enigmatic and incredible creature.
The gossamer wings bely its incredulous strength, speed and agility. They have inspired art and poetry, and the vivid colors hold symbolic meanings across continents. A symbol of transformation, joy and self realization.
To me, they are beautiful creatures who spread beauty and sparkle in their brief journey through this world.
